It only samples the metrics currently on screen, skips work entirely when your Mac is idle, and only redraws when something actually changes. Battery and Wi-Fi updates are push-based and cost nothing extra. PRIVACY FIRST Everything is read locally through public Apple system APIs. No analytics, no telemetry, no network requests of any kind - DuoBar doesn't generate traffic, it just reads existing counters. Wi-Fi status never touches SSID or signal strength, so macOS never asks for your location.
